Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm

Allah ﷻ not only commanded us to seek ihsan in our acts of worship; but to also seek our share in this world:

Surah Al-Qasas (28:77)

وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا

“But seek, through what Allah has given you, the Home of the Hereafter; and do not forget your share of this world…..

And amongst the Sahabah who exemplified this are:

Abu Bakr al-Siddiq who gained his share of the Dunya through mastery in cloth and garment trading

Uthman Ibn Affan gained his share by mastery in textiles and trading caravans

Az-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam gained his share by mastery of trade and real estate investments

Abdur-Rahman ibn ‘Awf gained his share by mastery of food, perfumes, and textiles trading

(May Allah ﷻ be pleased with them all)

And even the Messenger ﷺ before prophethood;

would lead and manage Khadija’s RA trading caravans to Yemen;

and come back with very profitable yields, displaying his professional competency as a merchant.

The Messenger ﷺ and his righteous companions gained their abundant share of this world by mastering their craft;

But at NO expense of their akhirah,

The abundant wealth they gained from their commercial expertise did NOT prevent them from being promised Jannah while ALIVE….

They were amongst the most dutiful servants of Allah ﷻ,

Obedient to Allah ﷻ an His Messenger ﷺ,

But used their mercantile expertise to increase their wealth,

And used their wealth; without hesitation; in service to Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ,

We can strive to emulate the Sahaba in this manner,

By encouraging Muslims to:

—>Maximize their skillset,

—>Connect and form network communities,

—>Be examples of professional mastery,

And use whatever wealth Allah ﷻ blesses us with in our career pursuits;

To serve, benefit, re-build, and uplift the Ummah; Bi’idhn Allāh ta’ala
